WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

Sangren Hall

The Western Michigan University (WMU) College of Education and Human Development has been located in the old Sangren Hall since 1964, and is ranked among the nation’s top 10 producers of professional educators. The New Sangren Hall, at the heart of campus, serves students from around the globe in one or more of the 150 classes scheduled there weekly. It is the most heavily used classroom building on campus and nearly every student who attends WMU will benefit from this new facility.

This $60 million, 230,000 square foot, four-story, building embodies the University’s commitment to excellence and sustainability, and supports WMU’s mission for academic success and future achievement. It also provides a dramatic and definite edge to the pedestrian mall that forms the “front door” to the University. The LEED Gold Certified facility provides innovative and essential state-of-the-art classrooms, teaching labs and research centers to effectively teach and prepare future graduates. New Sangren Hall is the physical embodiment of WMU’s recognized presence as a national research university known for its excellent preparation of students to succeed in their chosen careers.
