KALAMAZOO NATURE CENTER
The $1.3 million, 4,532 square foot new preschool replaced the current facility, allowing the Nature Based Learning program to expand and remain one of the most established nature preschools in the nation.
The new building is one of only a few buildings in the United States that has installed a glass technology that prevents birds from flying into it. The building also features a deck made of recycled plastic, which faces the woods. Inside, there are two large classrooms and a lobby area for parents to relax while waiting for their children.
Construction of the new building started in January 2013 and concluded in August 2013.
