KALAMAZOO COLLEGE

Upjohn Library Commons

Completed in September 2005, the $11.2 Million Kalamazoo College Library Renovation and Expansion Project provides a state-of-the-art facility for students, staff, and faculty.

New spaces in the building house studios, videoconferencing facilities, a new cafeteria area, and an attractive two-story Reading Room. Technological improvements include a wireless network, distance education capabilities, computer clusters, a Multimedia Lab, and a High-Tech Teaching Lab. Library users enter the facility through a new two-story glass atrium.

The 18-month project increased the total building area to 103,000 square feet. The Architect for the project is TMP Architecture. Miller Davis served as Construction Manager/Constructor and self-performed the concrete and structural steel erection work.
