Gerald R. Ford International Airport
Miller-Davis is honored to be the general contractor for Gerald R. Ford International Airport’s groundbreaking new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Facility. This $14.5 million state-of-the-art facility represents a significant investment in passenger safety, operational efficiency, and community resilience for the Airport Authority’s dedicated 19-member ARFF team.
Spanning 25,000 square feet, the facility is thoughtfully designed to meet the 24/7 demands of the ARFF team, whose mission is to ensure rapid response to aviation incidents. The ARFF team’s critical role requires an expansive, well-equipped space for rescuing passengers and minimizing property damage to conducting salvage operations. The facility will feature extensive vehicle bays to house advanced firefighting vehicles, specialized equipment, and expanded areas dedicated to intensive training. As a new addition to the Airport Operations Center, it will also support mutual aid training with partner agencies, strengthening community-wide emergency preparedness.
With completion targeted for early 2025, this facility will set new standards for airport safety infrastructure, affirming the Gerald R. Ford International Airport’s role as a leader in aviation safety and community engagement.
