FABRI-KAL CORPORATION

Fabri-Kal Corporation, headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is the sixth-largest manufacturer of plastic cups and containers in North America. It primarily serves the food service and consumer goods packaging markets.

Miller Davis was hired to construct a 1,200-square-foot tunnel inside the Kalamazoo manufacturing facility to accommodate new grinding equipment. This challenging eight-week, $300,000 project included removing the existing concrete floor and footings, temporary shoring to support the plant roof, and placing the new floor, walls, and top of the new concrete tunnel. Miller Davis self-performed all the shoring, cast-in-place concrete, and structural steel work.
