Brief Description

Oversees all aspects of human resources functions, including recruiting, retention, and employee benefits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing processes and initiatives to meet company’s talent, learning and development strategies, including facilitating talent management, professional development and career development to help retain top talent
  • Maintain talent pipelines through ongoing, targeted communication with potential candidates
  • Coordinate and attend career/job fairs
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation process and onboarding to foster achievement of organizational objectives and assimilation into company culture
  • Monitor compliance with the Employee Handbook
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements through continuing education to assist in mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for the company. Partners with outside counsel as needed/required.
  • Manage semi-annual employee review meetings, including scheduling
  • Monitor employee goal setting and tracking
  • Takes an active role in the development, implementation and execution of employee engagement initiatives
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and 401(k)
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Administer COBRA and flexible benefits plan
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation
  • Assist with the company’s third-party managed IT services provider
  • Plan, coordinate and execute company meetings and events
  • Assist the company’s corporate SWAG (souvenirs, wearable, and gifts) program
  • Assist in other human resources-related tasks that may be assigned
  • Works closely with department heads and managers
  • Reports to President

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  • College degree in human resources, public relations, marketing, business or related curricula
  • Human resources-related experience helpful including knowledge of employment law and best hiring practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Outgoing, energetic and poised under pressure
  • Must treat sensitive information confidentially
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe
