Miller-Davis Company was founded in Kalamazoo by Orville Floyd Miller in 1909. The O.F. Miller Company offered building construction services as well as retail lumber sales. In 1923, Cameron L. Davis, a recent graduate of the Engineering College of the University of Michigan, joined the firm as a junior engineer and estimator. In 1936, the firm was reorganized and incorporated as Miller-Davis Company. Mr. Miller left to continue his lumber business and Mr. Davis took over management of the construction company serving as president for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 1973.
In the beginning, Miller-Davis Company concentrated its building efforts on paper mills, but as the paper industry began to wane, the focus moved to the construction of college buildings to accommodate the post-war boom in education. Currently, we specialize in commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, institutional, religious/non-profit, specialty and sustainable construction. Although Miller-Davis Company has completed projects in 17 states, current operations are focused in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.
Miller-Davis Company is one of Kalamazoo's oldest active businesses and has been building for over a century.
